There is an amazing plan unfolding on the internet, and it involves our loving series, particularly for Fatal Frame II: Deep Crimson Butterfly.  It is known as "Operation Zero". Since I'm not that great at explaining stuff, I have copy-pasted their description. :P

Taking a note of inspiration from Operation Rainfall's success in pushing Nintendo of America to bring at least two of the games they had been pushing for, over to North American shores. Operation Zero, or OpZero for short, intends to do the same thing, only in this case our cause is for one specific game. That game being Fatal Frame: Deep Crimson Butterfly, also a Wii exclusive.

We at OpZero have laid down the groundwork for plans on how we are going to do this. Like Operation Rainfall, we are working on promoting European sales of the game, which on their shores will be known as Project Zero 2 Wii Edition, and we shall be staging our own write-in campaign to bring this game to North America too.

The plan goes as follows:

Step 1: Promote the organization, encourage people to join us, broaden the horizons and extend beyond Facebook to bring even more people into the fold.

Step 2: Begin Phase 1 of the write-in campaign to Nintendo of America, begin to make inroads to Nintendo themselves using this method and let them know exactly what we want. (Completed)

Step 3: Continued growth, inking out deals with other sites to promote OpZero even more should we get notice from Nintendo themselves. Continued contact via calling in, and writing in.

Step 4: Initiate Phase 2 of the write-in campaign once substantial growth is reached in order to attain a bigger impact than before. Continue paving the inroads to Nintendo, encouraging them to finally bring the Fatal Frame series back to the states not just for this generation of gaming, but future generations as well. (Ongoing)

Know that we at OpZero are dedicated to the cause, and are absolutely determined to make sure the Fatal Frame series gets it's due, and gets the gold treatment it so rightfully deserves. Everyone who becomes a member will be another notch closer to bringing a wonderful game that deserves to be experienced by everyone who wants it, to North American shores.

Fatal Frame updates:new:
Apparently, the pre-order bonus for Spirit Camera is...
-drum roll-
Earbuds.
Ear-freaking-buds.
:I
I'm not going to be mean about it. Maybe there are people out there that indeed need earbuds, and for some reason, pre-ordering this game is the only way to get a pair. Still, some merchandise-related things could be nice.
www.cameraslens.com/community/…

Also, there's a bit more information on the Crimson Butterfly remake. Apparently, the story is going to be expanded, so we'll have more of a story. There's also a feature that somehow has the game predict your fear, if I'm making any sense of that for you. There's also a Haunted House mode, which has you completely handicapped in order to experience a true scare.
If I left anything out, or simply misguided my information, read the article. (I promise it's not another dancing troll. :P)

Fatal Frame references
•I had realized a Fatal Frame reference. In one of my favorite movies, Stay Alive, at the beginning, after the guy died in the game, he said to his friend (the main character) that it was "sicker than Fatal Frame". xD I understand why I never realized it before was because I first saw this movie before I ever encountered Fatal Frame. Just thought that I'd share this. x3
hinatahearted says that there's a Fatal Frame reference in the manga of Loveless. You see Rei on a game cover one of the characters are holding. It's Natsuo's favorite game, as he complains about the priestess' and lack of save points. I haven't located the specific book or chapter yet, but if you have the chance to look it up, please do so. :3
•In chapter 177 of Hayate The Combat Butler, another Fatal Frame reference is made.  It was Isumi who said "I actually own a camera, too. It's an old camera, the Camera Obscura, to be more specific." And - since the whole manga is based on Hayate's POV - it was Hayate who was thinking, "Isn't that the camera that seals vengeful spirits in some game!?" (Thank you Liddol-sora!)
•In Silent Hill: Shattered Memories, before you go and meet Cybil for the first time, there is one of many ads that references many games. One of them include the Camera Obscura. Also, one of Dahlia's tattoos makes a nod to Fatal Frame.
•According to epiclykhi, in the first volume of Axis Powers: Hetalia, they reference Fatal Frame when they talk about horror in Japan.
•According to phfatbeatrice, there's a reference in Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, where Chiri-Chan is trying to scare the other students into not hibernating, and holds up Fatal Frame III.

If you happen to see any Fatal Frame references out there, please don't hesitate to comment and tell about it. I may put it up here! :3

EDIT: Now that it's the end of the day, I'll clarify that this was indeed an April Fool's joke. I love you all. :I
And to those that actually took my word for it instead of visiting the ambiguous tinyurl link, shame on you. :P

Original text:
Seriously! We were less than two weeks away from the release of Spirit Camera, and NOW you're deciding to change your mind!? Seriously! We just got to hear some samples of the English voice actors, and--
Geez, I got myself a 3DS just for this game, and now that's $150 down the drain. I am really sorry everybody, but this just pisses me off. Who else bought a 3DS? Who else pre-ordered this game? This is Fatal Frame IV all over again, but about ten times as worse.
What does this mean? Is Nintendo just being a complete douche bag, or is there a reasoning behind this? What lies in the future for Deep Crimson Butterfly? Should we even have any faith anymore for the Fatal Frame series?

I'll try to keep an eye out for any more news. In the meantime, here's the article that broke my heart:

I am so sorry, everyone.
First, let me take the time to say how glad I am to have so many people join this challenge. When I first started this challenge, it was only based on a small, fun idea. I didn't expect this many people to join, yet alone great artists. For that, I thank you all. :D

Now, without further adieu, onto the results...

I really love the kimono. The design and the shaw-thing looks absolutely adorable. I also like how the hair's held in a ponytail and is hanging over her shoulder.

Woman in Black - FF-SC by Vivid-K

I love the hanging-off-the-shoulder dress. The purple/black design looks really pretty, and the corset is a great addition. I love her wavy hair as well.

The long, simple dress has somewhat of a unique touch to it, and the really long black hair is a plus. What really comes out as eerie to me is how she's writing into her arms. It adds to her overall creepiness, including the red aura that is surrounding her.

Thank you all for participating! :D

Spoilers for the game has already been leaked onto the internet. Even so, if you are entering this challenge, don't "cheat" and base it on her actual appearance.

Hey guys, even though Spirit Camera has been released in Japan, it has been confirmed that it will come to America. While some of us wait around, let's do a another little challenge.

Spirit Camera's main antagonist is a female only labelled as the "Woman in Black". She hasn't been in any of the trailers, except she's mentioned to be lurking behind a black door that Maya urges you to not open. All that's known of her appearance is that she has long black hair and she dons a black dress. I want to see how many of you can give your own interpretation of what our antagonist looks like.

I will not judge on how great of an artist you are, but I will judge on how great your concept is. For those that are nervous about entering competitions because of their doubt in their art, you don't have to sweat about it any longer. When you complete your entry, submit it to the "Woman in Black" Challenge folder.

Deadline is February 14, 2012.

Now, get to it!

P.S. Sorry other admins for not giving a head's up on this. I just thought about it today, so I went ahead and orchestrated this.
